If you’re like most entrepreneurs, you’re always looking for ways to attract more customers and make more sales.
The problem I see, however, is that the strategies and techniques that have been taught and that are used by the majority are usually good to a certain point, but then seem to hit a ceiling in terms of results.
As a result, people like you turn to the internet for extended options and sometimes get caught in what I like to call the internet marketing “rabbit hole”.
If you’ve tried to market online and learn how to get more customers from the power of the net, and have found frustration, then you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about, lol.
So in this post, what I’d like to do is break down HOW to actually create a process that can sustainably help you to easily and in a non-techy way use the amazing power of the internet to attract more customers for your business and 10x your income, so long as you remain consistent.
So here we go…
Secret #1: Decide On Who You’re Going To Help
I know that may sound weird…
But online, it’s all about niche targets, search terms, and categories.
Offline, it’s about mass advertising.
So when you bring your offline mind to the internet, there’s instantly a disconnect.
It’s not effective to just randomly post on your FB page or wall, throw up promotional flyers, or massively send out invites for people to check out your business.
What makes marketing online so cool is how you are able to literally choose the specific market of people, who are most likely to use and buy your products and services and get your message right in front of them.
When that is done properly, your costs go down, your ideal customer attraction goes up, and now you are set up in a better position to make more sales to the right people.
Secret #2: Structure Your Value Ladder
Have you ever really taken the time to structure and outline the money path you want your customers to take when they come across you?
Yeah, most entrepreneurs haven’t.
The most efficient thing to do to help you increase sales is to have a very specific track of what products people get exposed to, and in what order, and for what price.
This is what we call a “value ladder”.
You see, it’s no longer enough, especially online, to just sell something and then hope your customer keeps browsing and randomly buys something else.
The entrepreneurs who are crushing it online and 10x-ing their sales are strategically designing the path, the route, and the track that a customer will take from “entry” into the store all the way through their checkout experience.
So put together the first, second, and third products that you believe are most desired by your potential customers, and structure and online “system” to help push your customers through that process and buy more.
Secret #3: Create A “What To Do” Solution
So let me ask you this…
What do you have to give away for free that helps your potential customer and gives them value, even if they don’t buy your product or service right away?
(And remember, this would be the first step of your value ladder…)
If nothing, you’re missing a giant piece to successfully marketing online.
See, the people that come to you do so because they want something. What they want is a solution to their problem, whatever that may be as it relates to your niche.
But online, many times, people are not just looking at your offerings, they are researching your competitors too. It’s so easy to check out 10 stores just like yours online than it is offline, on the street.
So when you decide to market on the internet, you must stand out.
The way that’s done is through offering something of value, what we call online a “lead magnet”, that offers your potential customer a “what to do” plan on how to solve their problem, from your perspective.
For example, if you sell cupcakes, you could give away a 3 cupcake recipe manual that tells people what they need to do to make their favorite flavored cupcakes, or you could even tell people why a certain icing is better to use than another and how that makes the difference in the taste of the cupcakes.
What happens is that you begin to present yourself not only as a cupcake provider but as an expert…and when the time is right for your potential customer to buy, the goal is that you would’ve presented yourself as the best option so when they buy, they chose to buy from you.
Secret #4: Offer A “How To Do It” Solution
So now that you’ve told your potential customer which icing is best and why (in our example above), this next little secret can literally add 50% more revenue to your bottom line without you having to do the work except for the first time you create it.
Here, you will want to offer a “how to do it” solution. In other words, after you told them “what” to do using secret 3 in your free offering, you can now SELL a solution on HOW to execute something.
So, using our same cupcake example, after you tell them which icing to use and why and you give that away for free…
You can now sell HOW to make your own professional tasting icing using the ingredients they already have in their pantry (or something close). You get the idea right?
So you simply put together a little video tutorial or PDF that teaches step-by-step how to make their own icing, and you charge your online customer a small cost to access it.
This one secret, like I said, has the power to literally increase your revenue by 50%, while you systematically make sales on the internet over and over again!
Pretty cool right? I thought so too.
Secret #5: Drive Targeted Traffic Daily
Ok, so now that you know who you are targeting, you have your value ladder specified, you have a free offer to give away and a low-cost paid offer to sell…
The only thing that is left is for you to get as many eyeballs on your free offer as you can, especially since after you give them access to the free offer, they immediately see the opportunity to buy your paid offer.
We call this “driving traffic”.
So whether your chosen advertising vehicle online is Instagram, FB Pinterest, or LinkedIn, you’ll want to leverage these social media platforms to start pointing people towards your offers.
You can use the free methods that are available and/or the paid methods for each of these outlets…whichever you choose.
The bottom line is that you must begin to advertise consistently, not just that you “sell cupcakes” but that you are the “cupcake expert” that not only sells cupcakes but who can show you how to be an “at-home” expert.
You see, on the internet, the money is in the information you sell, not so much the product itself.
